Diet: Omnivorous - Eat both live insects and plants. For Juveniles, their diet should be 50 : 50 (I : P). Adults should receive 20 : 80 (I : P).
Behaviour: Terrestrial but will exhibit semi - arboreal behaviour and climb if provided opportunities. Generally quite docile and confident.
Native Habitat: Arid and semi-arid regions of Australia
Lifespan: Females Average 8 - 15 years - however, can live up to 20! Big commitment.
Size when fully grown: On average 18–22 inches (45–55 cm).
Enclosure needs: Juveniles - A minimum of 3 x 2ft floorspace (Should upgrade within 18 months). For Adults - a minimum of 4 x 2 ft floorspace - however bigger is always bigger. Enclosure will need substrate for digging. They will need branches, cork, logs and hides. They will need a UVB Bulb that covers at least 2/3 of the length of the enclosure.
Temperature and Humidity: Between 30 - 35°C on hot end with a direct basking spot of up to 40°C. Cool end between 25 - 28°C. Night temps should drop no lower than 22°C. 30 - 40% Humidity is recommended.
