Please be aware when you come to our store to purchase fish you will be asked for a photo of your aquarium, and in certain cases, you may be asked for a water sample. This is for the welfare of the animal and to ensure that our customers have the most success with their fish tanks.

Please note. All of our goldfish are rescues and are of a size where they will need to go in a large outdoor pond (Standard Goldfish) or a large fish tank (Fancy Goldfish).

Fish require the right environment to live a happy and healthy life. Goldfish bowls do not provide this and therefore we do not sell them. Goldfish can live up to twenty years and can grow up to 30cm in length. Single tail Goldfish will eventually need to live in a pond. Fancy Goldfish, when fully grown will need a tank of a minimum of 140L and an additional 50L for every goldfish after that.

Goldfish and other species need to live in a tank with a filter and ornaments to hide in or investigate as they are intelligent! They also need plants to help keep the oxygen levels in the water high. Fish extract oxygen from the water around them, and if there is no filter to filter out waste, then there is no oxygen.

Ask any of the staff for help in choosing the right fish and tank for you!
