Large hamster cage by Rodipet®, suitable for all hamsters and gerbils

By contrast to “ordinary” hamster cages, the LaOla® fulfils the German size requirements of 100 x 50 cm (ca. 40 x 20 in) of uninterrupted floor space, which means there is plenty of room for species-appropriate hideouts and opportunities for climbing and digging. Still, the nagarium is not too large to fit in most living rooms, and daily floor time is recommended to enrich your pet’s life.

Thanks to its 50 cm height, there is plenty of room for a large running wheel, even if you want to put it on a pedestal to keep it free from the bedding. Indeed, the LaOla® can easily hold a thick layer of bedding for your pet to dig about and tunnel in. As all four sides are closed, no bedding will be thrown out of the nagarium. There is still plenty of ventilation going on though: Curved slits in the cage top are perfectly attuned to the cage proportions to ensure an ideal living environment inside.

You can watch your little friend through the huge window in the front, while the sides and top are opaque to give your pet a comfortable and sheltered feeling. The high-quality MDF boards of this nagarium are made in Germany from locally grown wood and meet all E1 emissions requirements, making the LaOla® nagarium a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to a traditional hamster cage.

And the LaOla® is easier to clean than most wooden cages: It comes with a sheet of plastic that covers the floor, stopping urine soaking into the wood. To make cleaning even easier and extend the cage’s life span, we recommend using the LaOla® hemp mat.

Not suitable for destructive female Syrian hamsters!
We have been using the LaOla® Nagarium as an enclosure for gerbils and various species of hamsters for several years and never had any problems with it save one: a number of female Syrian hamsters have found ways to chew the smooth walls of their LaOla®s - neither gerbils not dwarf hamsters nor male Syrian hamsters ever managed this feat, yet with female Syrian hamsters the issue is not uncommon. For this reason, we cannot recommend keeping female Syrian hamsters in our LaOla® Nagarium nor can we be held liable for any damage caused to the nagarium by female Mesocricetus hamsters.
