Multi-chamber system made of untreated birch wood: The Rodipet ® living labyrinth DaVinci. The size of the rodent house and the entrance holes (approx. 7 cm) was specially developed for Syrian hamsters and animals of similar size, such as gerbils and degus.
Golden hamster Dizzy (pictured) has enough chambers in the Rodipet ® living labyrinth to really feel comfortable. A cozy bedroom, a hallway, a practical pantry and a staircase with an opening to the roof area . "In case of danger" Dizzy can slip from the roof of the living labyrinth directly into his burrow and thus live out his natural escape reflex, just like in nature.
Why a removable roof?
Syrian hamsters and most other small rodents carry supplies of food to their homes. Collected food that is beginning to spoil (eg fresh vegetables) can be removed without destroying the small rodent's nest. You can also check the nest when there are offspring (e.g. if you are caring for a pregnant female) without lifting the whole house.
Rodipet ® brand quality
Our wooden products are made with a lot of love for animals. This includes precision craftsmanship and clean post-processing. The wood has no splinters or wood glue residue. Nails, staples or similar potential sources of danger are generally avoided with Rodipet ® products. Sensitive noses and paws can also be safe in Rodipet ® wooden products - because we check each piece individually before delivery.
The Rodipet ® living labyrinth offers several chambers for golden hamsters, gerbils, degus and other animals, which is very much in keeping with the natural behavior of the animals.
In their underground burrows, these rodents create several chambers in which they store supplies, sleep or care for their fur, for example. In nature, the animals also usually create several pantries - if one has been plundered by another animal, the others remain as an iron reserve. In the Rodipet ® living labyrinth, your pet can follow this natural instinct and thus "lie on the ear" with a safe feeling.
In the smallest of spaces, your rodent will find everything they need for a balanced living experience . The six chambers can be used in many ways - each animal has its own individual preferences . After a while, each room is assigned specific tasks. This makes it easy if you want to check the hamster's fresh food, for example. With the help of the removable roof, you can then precisely remove older fresh feed from the corridor system without disturbing the animal unnecessarily. This keeps the housing clean and hygienic.
All good things come from above?
Rodents have a strong escape reflex . Birds of prey usually threaten animals in nature with danger from above. As soon as they notice that something is moving above them (this could also be their owner), they strive to seek the safety of their den as quickly as possible. This was taken into account when developing the Rodipet ® residential labyrinth. Through the loophole in the roof , your pet can retreat quickly and directly to its comfortable home if necessary.
Space for the corner toilet
Most rodents do their "business" in corners. As an animal keeper, you can take advantage of this property to reduce the need for cleaning the entire cage and to significantly improve cage hygiene by installing a corner toilet in the house. To the inconvenience of the owner, many rodents also like to urinate in their own four walls.
With this model, you can set up the Rodipet ® ceramic corner toilet Comfort - width 17 cm in three of the six chambers.
An adult golden hamster can be up to 7 cm wide with full cheek pouches. If the entrances to the hamster house are too narrow, the hamster has to squeeze through. The hamster cereal grains can injure the mucous membranes on the inside of the cheek pouches, which can lead to abscesses in the cheek pouches. The entrances are also partially closed by the hamster independently with soft bedding and hay.
High quality
First-class materials and precise and loving processing make the Rodipet ® living labyrinth a top-class rodent housing. The best birch wood was used for this animal-friendly and functional dwelling . The layered structure of the wood used effectively prevents warping due to moisture or temperature fluctuations. This is especially important for the roof of the house. In addition, as a deciduous tree, birch wood is extremely compatible with rodents and ensures a healthy living environment .
The Rodipet ® living labyrinth offers enough space for a sand bath and drinking bowl on a surface of 41 x 26 cm. This prevents the drinking water or bathing sand from being contaminated by the litter. Syrian hamsters, gerbils & Co. have easy access to the surface via a loophole. Like all passages of the Rodipet ® living labyrinth, it has a width of approx. 7 cm.
